About the Founder of APTUS Advisory
Mark Bradley was originally trained as a biochemist. He has subsequently worked in, and managed R&D, across both the private and government sectors including cooperative research centres, and has extensive business and mangement experience at a senior level.
Between 2001-2007 he was the CEO of Australian Technology Park Innovations, a technology commercialisation hub located in Sydney with a special focus on IT, electronic technologies and the biotechnology sectors. During that time he was responsible for oversighting the mentoring and development of over 80 companies either in residence or as virtual clients.
In this role he was exposed to a wide cross section of the science, technology and commercialisation sectors and was responsible for the establishment of an early stage investment fund bizCapital Pty Ltd, the seed investment arm of ATP Innovations. He has served on the board of 6 companies.
Earlier in his career he held positions as;
- A Principal Research Scientist in the CSIRO
- The inaugural Director of Research at the Perth Zoological Gardens
- The Director of the Australian Institute of Mucosal Immunology Pty Ltd.
- An Innovation Management and Technology Commercialisation Consultant with a well known Sydney-based consulting firm MJ&A.
- In 1999 he established Australia's first dedicated biotechnology incubator, Xcelerator Ltd in Sydney and was the CEO.
Mark has served on a number of committees associated with technology commercialisation and innovation and in the past was:
- Chair of the NSW branch of AusBiotech
- Member of the Sydney Graduate School of Management (UWS) Council of Advice
- Member of the AEEMA (Australian Electronics and Electrical Manufacturers Association) Advisory Council.
- Member of the Science Industry Action Agenda
His special interests include the:
- New Media and communications strategies
- Role that industry clusters play in economic development,
- Promotion and expansion of business opportunities in the regions
- Development of innovative solutions to enhancing commercialisation of emerging technologies from both public sector institutions and the private sector.
Until recently was residing in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates where among other roles he was a Consultant Advisor, Abu Dhabi University, Innovation & Entrepreneurship Center. Currently back in Australia working on new projects on the south coast region. In addition to his role in APTUS Advisory. Dr Bradley is also:
